Rio of Chavon and his fauna

This river originates in the inside of the country, to finish in the Caribbean Sea,east of La Romana, the Chavon is known to have been the decoration of some scenes of movies such as Apocalypse Now, Rambo 3 and Anaconda.
An impressive landscape, where banks are covered by a dry semi arid rain forest and a wild life. The river is surrounded by a spectacular canyon, very quiet, without piranhas nor crocodiles but where we meet tortoises of water, hawks and “vultures fishermen”. Another peculiarity of this place, on the top of the cliff, the village of Altos of Chavon, in the Mediterranean lines built at the heart of the Dominican nature; Created by the Italian Robert Copa in the 70s, distant from hundred kilometers of Santo Domingo and one hour of Bayahibe.
Altos of Chavon, quoted from artists famous for its architecture, is also considered by fabulous sound amphitéâtre "Las Piedras", inaugurated in 1982 by Fank Sinatra and Carlos Santana. Including 5.000 seats, international Artists occurred there such as Sting, Madonna, Ricky, Julio Iglesias and Duran Duran.
