The bay is located on the southeast coast of the Dominican Republic, about 45 km east of Bayahibe, at the mouth of the Rio Yuma in the province of Higuey.

Ancient pirate haven - in Fortaleza of Boca de Yuma you can still see the seventeenth-century Spanish coastal defense cannons - today is a small and quiet fishing village, rarely visited by mass tourism.

At the center of beautiful beaches, Boca de Yuma is inhabited by simple people and often involved in a number of attractions for visitors: fishing, trekking, biking, photography. Receives the waters of the Atlantic Ocean through the channel of Mona and the river (Rio Yuma) is navigable for about 1.5 km.

Among the places of interest, definitely worth visiting, there is the cave Bernard with its beautiful stalactites and stalagmites. Do not miss the stop at the restaurant “El Arponero” for a delicious lunch of fish with spectacular views.
